The pandemic has only served to worsen this issue as the CDC reports that “about twice as many people reported having serious thoughts of suicide than they did prior to the pandemic.” This is becoming something that we as a nation can no longer turn a blind eye to when in 2020, 45,979 people died of suicide. Suicide not only affects the person who dies, but the ones left behind; often leaving scars that for some last a lifetime.
